As a leading drinks supplier to major businesses nationwide, Brtivic’s fleet of vending machine technicians is always on the go. Making the best use of this mobile workforce is vital to managing client relationships and maintaining ongoing levels of trust.

Challenge

Britvic had two main requirements. Firstly, they needed a system that would help them meet Service Level Agreements by responding to ‘reactive’ or urgent call-outs more quickly. Secondly, they wanted a simple solution that allowed drivers to record their business and personal mileage more easily and help streamline their expenses system.

Solution

Masternaut worked closely with Britvic to ensure the best possible solution was developed. The team then agreed to implement the solution in two stages beginning with a 3-month regional trial, which was hugely successful and demonstrated the potential benefits prior to full fleet roll-out.

By implementing our leading edge vehicle tracking solution, we provided Britvic with total visibility of their entire fleet. Our in-house development function developed a bespoke solution for Britvic’s central London motorbike division which required a custom-made casing to ensure the vehicle track system unit was fully accessible and theft-proof.

With a real-time view of the location and status of technician the planning teams in each of their 12 regional depots are able to assign the optimum technician to each reactive call-out within minutes, increasing productivity and response times significantly without unnecessary impact on the planned work schedule.

To identify private mileage from business mileage, Masternaut’s vehicle track system incorporated privacy buttons in each vehicle that allowed drivers to switch off the technology when they weren’t working. Not only did this provide the simple business mileage data that Britvic needed to streamline their expenses process, it also helped to ensure the technicians embraced the solution and viewed it as a positive improvement.
